Napoleonic Uniforms 1796 – 1815
French Napoleonic Uniforms 1812 – 1815
The 1812 uniform change was made by the Bardin Regulations with an emphasis on practicality and simplicity. Whilst some fanciful uniforms were still in use these were in a minority and beginning to be phased out as and when the uniforms came into disrepair.
The French uniforms for the 100 days campaign were the same as those from 1812 onward. Only slight changes were made due to shortages and the speed with which the French had to mobilize which meant the uniforms were even more practical and less fanciful than before.
